Publication Ethics
Journal Garasi Buku and Obrolan Keilmuan (Journal Sibook) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices. All parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to these ethical principles.
1. Duties of Authors
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original. Proper citation of sources is mandatory. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.
- Authorship: Authorship should reflect significant contributions to the work. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript.
- Data Access: Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts that could influence their work.
2. Duties of Editors
- Editorial Independence: Publication decisions are based solely on academic merit.
- Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination.
- Confidentiality: Editors must protect the confidentiality of submissions.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts exist.
3. Duties of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively and supported by clear arguments.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline reviews if conflicts of interest exist.
4. Peer Review Integrity
Journal Sibook applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure objective and unbiased evaluation.
5. Publisher Responsibilities
- The publisher ensures ethical oversight and editorial independence.
- Policies are maintained for handling misconduct, corrections, and retractions.
6. Handling of Misconduct
- Allegations of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication) are investigated following COPE guidelines.
- Confirmed cases may result in correction, retraction, or publication bans.
7. Complaints and Appeals
Complaints and appeals related to editorial decisions or ethical concerns may be submitted to the journal management via the official contact channel. All cases are handled transparently and in accordance with COPE procedures.
