Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Journal Garasi Buku and Obrolan Keilmuan undergo a rigorous and structured peer review process to ensure scholarly quality, originality, and academic integrity. The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.
The peer review process consists of the following stages:
- Initial Editorial Screening:
Upon submission, the editorial team conducts a preliminary evaluation to assess the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s author guidelines, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage. - Reviewer Assignment:
Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript’s subject area. Reviewers are selected based on academic competence and absence of conflicts of interest. - Peer Review Evaluation:
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of analysis, relevance, and contribution to the field. Reviewers provide constructive comments and clear recommendations (acceptance, revision, or rejection). - Author Revision:
Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments. Revised submissions may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. - Editorial Decision:
The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration reviewers’ reports and the journal’s editorial standards. The editorial decision is independent and free from commercial or personal influence.
The average duration of the peer review process ranges from 4 to 6 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
